THE JOY AND SORROWS OF YAHOO BUSINESS

INTRODUCTION

Obviously, Yahoo business is gradually becoming one of the most populous businesses today done especially through the internet.
People especially the younger generation are trooping into it every now and then. And they seem to be making fortunes from it. You see them all around with exotic cars, living big and inexpensive houses. They always show forth their flamboyance everywhere.A lot of concerns have been raised about the rate at which this business is winning the interest of the young ones.
Some condemn the business sharply while others condone it giving some reasons.
I have personally been concerned enough to take a closer look at the subject matter to understand the impact it makes on those involved either positively or negatively.

WHY SOME PEOPLE CONDONE YAHOO BUSINESS
1- Poor Economy: Indeed, there is severe economic stress in the society. A lot of people are suffering. Poverty is on the increase. Unemployment is widespread. The system has not been fair and encouraging at all especially to the common man. The common man is highly disadvantaged and helpless.
The system is so incapacitating that even when you have a business idea you wish to develop, you would have to go the extra mile if your dreams must see the light of the day. This is a fact.

2- The unchecked fraud and corruption among government agencies: At times, when you look at how you have suffered in the midst of plenty; seeing the monies that are enough to make life better for the common man if productively invested, being looted by those in power. And seeing these same people living very big on our money while the common man keeps gnashing their teeth in pains could be very provoking.
At times, after enduring the hunger to graduate from school, no employment or empowerment. Yet these people steal our money to send their children to the best schools in the world. They even secure the best jobs and empowerment still for their children when they return and that is if at all they come back to live here.
These unrepentant looters, despite the fraud they commit, still have the strongest influence in the society. They are still the ones who decide the fate of the common man. They are more celebrated, honored, protected, listened to and cared for. Despite their loots, they still receive the biggest allowances ranging from transportation, health, feeding, wardrobe etc. Yet, no provision for the common man. It can really be very annoying.

3- The high and quick returns of Yahoo business: At times, considering how much and how long it takes to breakthrough securing good paying jobs or pursuing a good business carrier in this dysfunctional system. And how much you can make from Yahoo business within a short time if you really know how to play the game very well, it becomes very inviting and tempting to subscribe to the business.
In another thought, when you see how these privileged looters and Yahoo boys enjoy life from the monies they make from loot and scams, you may begin to think at times that you are just fooling yourself trying to make it through legitimate means

THE JOY OF YAHOO BUSINESS
If you look around, you could see that Yahoo boys really enjoy some things
1- Financial fortunes: Those of them that are fully into it could really be swimming in money. They can buy anything they want ranging from exotic cars to houses to clothing and many more. They can afford to travel to all the finest places in the world.
2- Social influence: They often get plenty likes on social media where they display their flamboyance and wealth. They pull the crowd especially the fun-loving young ones by splashing some cash on them amidst many fanfares.

THE SORROWS OF YAHOO BUSINESS
Despite the financial and otherwise gains derived from this business, there are many things they suffer too.
1- Insecurity: Because Yahoo business is not a legitimate and legal business, those involved are always prone to arrests, harassment, probes, and prosecutions from both Government apparatus e.g EFCC in Nigeria, the people they scammed and many others.
They are always on the run and on the hide being chased after from time to time. They are not always at peace with themselves and with people. They are always suspicious and easily threatened.



2- Freedom: They can't live freely like every other person despite their wealth. They tread very softly always afraid of falling into the nets of their victims, the police and other agencies that fight financial and immoral crimes in the society. They often restrained in their daily living by certain codes of ethics guiding the game. They can't relate freely with people.

3- Trust: They hardly trust because they know they can't be trusted themselves. They are highly suspicious and this interferes with their relationship with people.

4- False life: They always approach their target victims with false identities. They bear different names and titles to suit the location and status of their target victims.
Most times, they don't disclose their real identities in buying properties like cars, houses etc. And also, when they manage to establish business enterprises, they still hardly use their personal names. Instead, they use company names or the names of their parents or friends who have the pedigree to defend such possessions before any Authority. They do this to exonerate themselves from prosecutions in case things backfire.

5- Stressful life: Because of the game involved, they work almost round the clock in order to follow up their target victims. They are always online searching.

6- Health hazards: They are exposed to numerous health hazards which include:
i- Eye problems: Because they always spend long hours on the laptop or phones, they are prone to various eye problems and headaches from the constant eye strains.
in- Drug and Substance Abuse: Most times, they depend on hard drugs, alcohols, and spirits to turn themselves on in order to meet up with the demands of the game.
They also use these drugs and substances to deaden or mask their conscience as a person whose conscience is alife could hardly scam somebody else, because his heart must prick him.
In addition, they do take these drugs to high themselves in order to measure up socially. Please note that these people are highly insecure within themselves. They live with so much emptiness inside them owing to the illegitimacy of the source of their wealth, the falsehood in the life they live and the uncertainties about what the future holds for them.
In the process, they develop addictions and dependence on these drugs. On the long run, they become medically, psychologically and emotionally challenged.
iii- Sexually Transmitted Diseases(STDs): These boys often go out with different girls from time to time. In the process, they get exposed to different deadly STDs such as HIV, Gonorrhea, hepatitis etc.
iv- Insomnia: Because of their lifestyle of working almost round the clock, they hardly sleep well. When this persists for long, they may end up with hypertension and other terminal diseases.
v- Psychological diseases: This Yahoo business is a game of probability. They often face disappointments. Having failed deals could be very traumatic emotionally. This may result in depression.
Sometimes, seeing how life and the society have been unfair to them, and the falsehood in the life they have found themselves, they do have mixed feelings even though they make the money. Of course, they are still humans.
To overcome the depression and the mixed feelings, they often resort to hard drugs, alcohols, tobacco and spirits to which they become addicted.

7- Reputation: They are always men of little or no reputation despite all they acquire. They are no force to be reckoned with in noble societal spheres. So many question marks hang on them.

8- Because of the illegitimacy of the source of their wealth coupled with the lack of nobility and the falsehood in their lifestyles, they can't really participate actively and openly in important societal developmental concerns because they lack the pedigree to do so.

9- Investments: Yahoo boys hardly invest their money into businesses. The following reasons could be responsible:
i- Poor financial background: Some of them that could have tasted abject poverty before, and now have access to a lot of money, they would begin to see it as an escape route out of suffering, an opportunity to enjoy life at least, for once.
ii- Social insecurity: From the ugliness of their past as well as the emptiness and emptiness of their present fortunes, they feel less worthy and useful to the society. They feel socially deficient. And to measure up socially, they resort to showing off their wealth in flamboyance. This gives them a false edge over people especially their peers.
To maintain this false edge consistently, they fight so hard to make more money at all cost just to show off since that's the only thing that gives them that (false) edge.
So, it becomes very unlikely to invest their money into businesses that may not yield high and quick returns with which they can maintain the high life they have started living. They find it easier to invest in businesses that promise high and quick returns such as Ponzi schemes which are also scam themselves.

10- Uncertainties about their future: Yahoo business being a "get-rich-quick" business venture, deadens the innate potentials of those involved.
The business does not motivate them to discover their natural gifts and talents to maximize them. Even the few ones they discover are used for the wrong purposes, which is to scam people.
Because of the spirit that follows the fortunes of the business, the majority of them don't make concrete plans for the future. Their own is just to spend the money and enjoy life. They hardly think of the rainy day. And because they don't prepare for the future, they often end up in misery, back to square zero if the Yahoo business crashes.

LESSONS FOR YAHOO BOYS
Those involved in Yahoo business could have excuses to defend themselves, but none of these is justifiable.
1- The poor economic and political systems, as well as your poor family background, is not enough to indulge in this business and lifestyle.
Just look around and find out if there are people in similar circumstances as you who are still making it legitimately despite prevailing circumstances. If there are, then you have no excuse.

2- Yahoo business requires good computer skills. If you look around the world today, you will see a lot of people who have made great fortunes legitimately using computer skills. Look at Microsoft, Facebook, WhatsApp and all the social media and internet platforms, they were all made through computer programming skills.
So, there are a lot of things you can do with your computer literacy and be fulfilled.

3- Negotiation skills: Negotiation skills is a major tool in the business world. And Yahoo business requires it too to get your target victim to strike the deal. So, if you can play on people's intelligence to milk them of their money, that is the Negotiation skill will are talking about only that you are using it the wrong way, and for the wrong purpose.

4- Diligence: Yahoo business is really tedious. They work almost round the clock. So, if you can cope with the stress and succeed in Yahoo business, you can do same in other legitimate businesses.

5- Whats the essence of acquiring wealth that you cannot account for or confidently defend before any authority any time, any day? What's the essence of acquiring wealth at the expense of your inner peace, safety, personal freedom, joy, reputation, and identity?
Most of them don't feel fulfilled despite the opulence and affluence. They feel empty within.

THE WAY OUT OF YAHOO BUSINESS
1- Realize the deceptiveness and destructiveness of the quick riches it promises.
2- Resolve to come out of it to live a genuine and real life.
3-  Dissociate yourself from Yahoo boys and their likes.
4- Surround yourself with people with the right mentality and approach to life. People who can inspire you to pursue greatness through self-discovery, development, and fulfillment.
5- Now paint a mental picture of the new life you want to live and let this picture be the focal point towards which all your life endeavors are directed.
6- Set both short, medium and long-term goals for yourself and take small steps daily towards achieving them.
6- Be patient enough to allow the fruits of your labor mature over time before thinking of harvest. This would require you to deaden the high materialistic taste you've developed from those extravagant lifestyles.
7- Finally, be close to God because He is the only source of true success and fulfillment.

CONCLUSION
Yahoo business and every other "get-rich-quick" business will only give you bread for today and take away your bakery tomorrow. You may bake bread within a day, but it takes several days to build a bakery.
You can make money today, but it takes time to make a real living.
Yahoo business gives you fish but blunts your fishing tools and fishing skills. So, don't fall victim of its deception.
It may not be easy to come out of it, but you can do it and God will help you.
